Yea it's Saturday -- back to my part-time job again. Can't wait...

It's finally happened -- I finally made a little money on the internet. Just $12 or so, but it's a start. Now if I just "build a list" and begin some email marketing.

PAT for 2/14/14

1. Finish correcting my Ezine Articles links to working websites -- have two to go

Update:

Finished updating all 18 of my published Ezine articles with the correct website links in the resource box. So very glad that's over! Will try to put a list of these articles on this site at a future date.

Got halfway through the eBook creation course. Hope to finish it on Sunday.

Did get my opt in box updated on my energy saving website.

Skipped the gym -- had to work too hard at my part-time job.

Got a little rest, but not enough!

Plan of Attack for today:

1. Take the boss, (my wife), out to a Valentine breakfast

2. Still working on updates of my Ezine Articles resource boxes. What is a resource box? At the end of an article, the author is allowed to tell the reader about himself and even put in a link to his/her website. It's important that the link be up-to-date and not broken, so when readers click on it, they will end up at the right place.
3. Gave my better half a color Nook today -- have had fun showing her how to use it!
4. Currently working on my html course -- learning how to do bold, italic, etc. Fun! Fun! Fun!

The day's nearing an end and I've still got lots I'd like to do but...

Happy Snow Day Ya'll!

Well it's official -- NO SCHOOL TODAY! We've got a lot of the snow on the ground and the Weather Channel says more may come later this morning. In our area we've had a whopping 7 inches so far -- a BIG snow for NE Tennessee.

PAT for Today

1. Work on website building tips eBook.

2. Start on new websites to replace non-working ones mentioned in most of my published Ezine Articles. Need to come up with 9 or so -- lot's of fun!

3. MailChimp answered my email yesterday and gave me someone else to contact regarding changing AWeber html code. Need to follow up.

4. Continue through the html course I'm taking.

It's now 5:25 am -- time for a little breakfast I think!

 I have made progress on switching over my Ezine Articles to their new links. Lucky for me several of the articles are in the same categories, so I can direct them to the same website. Just have the oddball topics to change over now. Hope to get all done by end of day.

Will delay working on my eBook until tomorrow -- still have more research to do. I'm thinking about doing a JV, (joint venture), with the instructor of my html course. I'll advertise his course on my Website Building Step by Step site and on this blog in exchange for him sending his list info on my free website eBook. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll agree!

There is a program I'd like to warn ya'll about. It's called, "IM Target" and it has a Create a Website feature that has stopped working. I set up several WordPress sites using this feature, and now none of the sites seem to be working. I emailed their support desk at the beginning of the week about the problem I was having. They said that were working on it, but my websites are still not working. BEWARE of this program!

Time is now 4:10 pm and I need to get back to work. Will do an update later...

Hello From Skidmark and Flash

And such good friends they were too -- but now they play together in cat and ferret heaven. So sad, I really miss them sometimes, except for litter cleaning time.

P.A.T. for Today

1. Just sent MailChimp a request for help. Need to change a webpage with AWeber autoresponder code for opt-in box so that the data goes to MailChimp instead. I know a little html, but not enough to fix. We'll see what kind of response I get from their tech support.

So far I've been pleased with the free version of MailChimp, and may change over to a paid version if they can help me solve this problem.

2. Start my second week of Chris Farrell's 4 Week Fast Track today. I breezed through last week's material in about a day or so. The work mostly involved setting up a WordPress site and installing a "done for you" (DFY) plugin. I also set up an AWeber autoresponder list and follow up email to go along with the DFY site.

3. Went to the gym  in the early afternoon, before our blizzard got started and worked out with weights. Did a 2.5 mile jog on treadmill as well.

4. Finished up week 2 of FWFT (Four Week Fast Track). I say finished up but part of the homework is to come up with a FREE gift to give away. I want to do an eBook about building websites. I started pulling together research that I already had onhand. Hope to complete the project tomorrow.

Let It Snow -- Oh Not Again!

Snow's back in our TN forecast for later this week -- oh joy! We've got a whopping 25 degrees here in Bluff City TN at 9 am.

It sounds like I'm getting a late start today, but I'm not. Today is grocery day and I try to do this exciting task right after breakfast.

Today's PAT (Plan of Attack)

1. Because of server problems with a program I joined in 2013, I'm probably going to get a new web hosting account. After doing a little research, I'm going to try out iPage, I can get a small hosting package for $1.99 per month and get a free domain name. I've been using the name Master Business Services for some time now and masterbusinessservices.com is available. They have a money back guarantee and a high reliability rating.

2. Autoresponders -- At the moment I have two, MailChimp and AWeber. I am going through Chris Farrell's 4 Week Fast Track program and using AWeber in almost required. The cost for AWeber, after the $1 trial period, is around $20 per month to start.

MailChimp cost is free, but you can go to a better plan for $10 a month. The problem I am confronted with is can the webpage code from 4 Week Fast Track be changed so I can use MailChimp for signups instead of AWeber.

Today I want to contact MailChimp support and see if this can be done and how. Will be interested to see how they respond.

3. Now that I have a domain name and web hosting account, I need to begin setting up my WordPress blogs on the new server. Part of the 4 Week Fast Track training will guide me through this process.

Starting Early Today -- Just after 3 am

The thing is, I went to bed later than usual. Oh well, since I go to my part-time job later today, I'll try to grab a nap later on.

Have you heard about this program? I joined a while back, read through most all of the material, and then moved on to something else. Recently I went back to the site, (the membership is lifetime), and boy was I surprised. Just about everything had been updated and improved!

Unlike many work at home sites and programs out there, these folks really seem to care about their members. I found a good bit of new and helpful information as I went through the free-lance writer section.

Moving right along, today I've got to update my Weebly menu site. I set up this free website so I could have easy and quick access to the web pages I visit most often. I did this quite a while back and now many of the sites I no longer visit. It's not really hard to do, I just have to edit the site a little and save it. I just keep getting sidetracked -- you know what I mean.

11:00 pm Finally worked on my Weebly site and did some updating. Still need to do more but at least I've started.

Did some more of the HTML course and even did some emailing with the instructor.

Finally, started doing some research on Email Inbox Infiltration so I can write an article. Seems like everyone has written "X"  Step to Email Marketing Success. Think I'll try to go at it from another approach.

One of the 7 Steps that I listed for you yesterday was about learning something new. There are so many areas that I need to learn about, it's hard to choose. For example, I'd really like to know more about HTML, and how to modify code. Have they written the book HTML For Dummies yet? I could start there. Ha!

I still have to update my Weebly menu pages, since I ran out of time yesterday. Problem is, I have to work around 8 hours today at my part-time job. Maybe someday, I'll earn enough through the internet to stop this minor interference!

Still early yet, just after 6 am -- will update here later on today as to progress towards my goals for today.

I'm back from my part-time phone center job -- got off early actually. It's interesting how a lot of these phone call centers work. They schedule x amount of people to work based on predicted call volume. Then when the calls don't come in as predicted, they ask you to "volunteer" to go home early. Oh well...

Finished writing my Ezine Article on Public Speaking. I titled it,  "How to Speak in Public Without Shaking Like Jello." Hopefully it will be accepted the early part of the week. If so, I'll share the link with you.

On my way home from work I stopped by the gym, worked out on some weights, and jogged 3 miles on the treadmill. Such fun!

Time is now 8:30 pm. Wonder what else I can accomplish today?

Still looking for something new to learn today -- I'm open for suggestions.

Since I've been playing around with WordPress, it might be a good idea to learn some HTML. I did a Google search for free HTML training and found this site: www.udemy.com

I signed up for free and have started my HTML training. Now let's see how much I can learn and how fast. Also want to see how much training I get for $0.00.
