Don't Know About You, But...

I need a good word or two from Uncle Ben today! He says,

Do what you can, being what you are,
Shine like a glow worm, if you can't be a star.
Work like a pulley, if you can't be a crane,
Be a wheel-greaser, if you can't drive the train.

8_5_11 008 Today I feel like Flash looks in this picture!

My Plan of ATtack for today:

1. Get rid of this head cold!!! (I hope)

2. Go to JOB for 5 hours this am/pm -- 4 hours yesterday almost made my head EXPLODE.

3. Get a good nap this afternoon after work.

4. Finish "newsletters" section of my new eBook.

5. Make a few forum posts.

Update:

Feeling a little better -- yea! I was able to complete "newsletters" section of eBook and spent 5 hours at JOB. Napped a little also, but did not do forums.

Life Lessons #1 (Something to think about)

My PAT for today...

1. Contact AWeber about a yearly plan -- must have a reliable autoresponder for my list(s).

2. Continue working on my new website traffic eBook -- today I look at "newsletters" as a traffic source.

3. Work on HTML lesson.

4. JOB and gym (feeling better but not 100% yet)

5.Revisit forums I joined yesterday and post.

Update...

Partial success today -- Got AWeber taken care of and am working on "newsletters" section of my eBook. Also dropped by the forums for a quick visit and did some posts.

No HTML lesson or gym -- head cold still hanging on. Did make it through 4 hours at p/t JOB.

Cheers!

Ever been at a loss for words?

Looking at this little guy makes me feel that way.

Let's see what Uncle Ben has in store for us today:

"The chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."

Plan of ATtack for today:

1. JOB (I hope--still feeling a little sick)

2. Continue working on new eBook about website traffic.

3. Put into practice what I'm writing about -- the first website traffic step I cover is to visit forums. So I googled a list of several website design forums and plan to visit a couple today.

4. Signed up with 2 forums and began posting. Looking forward to adding people to my list and/or having them purchase a product from one of my website. I understand this takes a while to see results.

Thought For the Day...

gym socks

I hope none of you are related to these two individuals!

Recap from yesterday:

I worked a little on the HTML course that I'm taking -- I'm able to use a little of what I've learned but need more training and practice.

I uploaded my website eBook to 9 different eBook sites. Some sites are easy to upload to and others not so.

PAT for today:

1. Continue uploading my eBook to other eBook download sites on my list.
2. Work on HTML lessons.
3. Review Fanpage training and try to implement.
4.Start working on new eBook

Been a little "under the weather" the last couple of days so have not been to JOB. I think I'm about over IT and am looking forward to more normal days.

I uploaded my eBook to as many sites as I could do easily. Also worked on my HTML lessons -- the instructor did a good review over what we've covered thus far. I went over my Fanpage training a little but did not go to Facebook at all.

I began another eBook which I'm calling, "Website Traffic As Easy As 1 - 2 - 3?" The eBook will explore various techniques of increasing visitors to my various websites. I'm looking forward to trying out these techniques starting as soon as tomorrow.

Cheers all!

WOW -- Was this fun or what? I added 2 tabs to my Fanpage

I just learned how to do this yesterday -- it's really cool!

As you may or may not know, Facebook Fan pages are the business side of Facebook. Unlike your Personal Profile, you can have unlimited FB Fan pages. Facebook Fan pages come with two tabs by default, "photos" and "likes." To add additional tabs, use can use a third party application such as "Short Stack." (This ap has a FREE and a paid version.) Click here to sign up.

After you sign up for free, you'll be presented with the following screen:

You can either "Create App From Template" (easier) or "Create Blank Ap." Let's say I want to create an app for visitors to sign up for a free newsletter. Here are the steps:

 1. Check to see if there is a ready made template for newsletter signups by clicking "Create App from Template."

2. I find a template called "Newsletter Signup 2.0" and select it. I'm presented with a preview screen and instructions on Newsletter Signup 2.0. I click on "Make App" at top right hand corner of page.

3. I am taken to the "Designer" screen. This screen allows me modify and customize the template. I copy the instructions onto Notepad and delete them by clicking the X on the Instructions Widget. Here's a screenshot of what I see next:

4. Since I won't be using Testimonials or Links, I delete them by clicking the X.

 5. Since I've designed a "header" image, I click the pencil icon in the Header Image Widget to upload it. If you don't have a header image, you can delete it by clicking X.

6. I move down to the Main Message Widget and edit as necessary -- it looks good so I move down to the Newsletter Sign Up Widget.

 7. I will send my signup to my MailChimp account so I delete the current Newsletter Sign Up Widget and drag over the MailChimp Widget. (You may integrate this form with your Email Provider such as Constant Contact, High Rise or MailChimp.) If you use other e-mail providers such as AWeber, you'll need to upgrade -- sorry!

 8. My Newsletter Sign Up Form is now complete and I click the "Install App" button at the top left of the screen. I have to log in with Facebook, and choose "Quick Publish."

9. Next I tell ShortStack the Fanpage to install to and magically the new tab appears.

10. Now I go to my Facebook Fanpage, edit the tab name and image, save the settings and I'm done. Here's my Fanpage with my 2 new tabs, "Free eBook" and "Website Newsletter" added:

I need to work on the eBook tab image, but still not too bad for a first attempt! Cheers all!
